Delivery of Cooling Towers at Austin Energy DCP3

Delivery of cooling tower cells has begun on site at Austin Energy District Cooling Plant #3. The downtown Austin district cooling plant will provide an additional 10,000 tons of cooling capacity utilizing 4-2,500 ton water-cooled centrifugal chillers and nine cooling tower cells with a cooling capacity of 1,250 tons each. With scheduled completion in late 2020, progress along the Union Pacific Railroad Right of Way continues to advance with the goal of delivering increased efficiency and reliability to the chilled water services of downtown Austin.
