Oklahoma State University CEAT Endeavor Lab

The $28 million 70,000 SF “innovations hub” created a unified center for Oklahoma State University’s College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. The new three-story facility includes a two-story glass drone and robotics lab, an open geothermal system used to educate, and adjustable labs spaces for multidisciplinary learning. Many of the building’s features are purposely exposed, such as the entry vestibule, to serve as a learning tool for students studying engineering and construction. The stainless steel in-beds in the floor are designed with equations, formulas, and words to illustrate OSU CEAT’s educational experience. Flintco built a two-story, all-glass lab for drone flights and robotics work, which is featured at the front of the building and includes a portion of the glass wall that can be opened, so students can enjoy an open-air study and lab space when weather permits. The geothermal HVAC system was purposely designed to be open to view, as part of the educational experience for students. Students can open and close 13 different “wells” of different depths and calculate the temperatures.
